joelstein CreditAttribution: joelstein commentedI'm still getting the "410 Gone" error.

gbyte CreditAttribution: gbyte as a volunteer and at gbyte commentedI just fixed a bug which might be responsible for the above: #3252044: Previously published sitemap unpublished during generation
Can you please install the dev version and check if that fixes the problem?

GlarDupIf you just run wget -O- https://www.bing.com/ping?sitemap=https://example.com/sitemap.xml you get the same 410 Gone error. So it has nothing to do with the module.
Could this be the problem?:

I don't know enough about this topic to be able to judge how reliable this blog post is, but they suggest using the IndexNow Initiative for submitting sitemaps to Bing (and Yandex).

gbyte CreditAttribution: gbyte as a volunteer and at gbyte commentedThat's very interesting and a suspiciously sneaky thing to do for Microsoft - removing a public API without letting the world know. If this post is correct, we should stay on top of things and implement the IndexNow functionality into our search_engines submodule. I created a feature request here: #3256453: Add IndexNow capability to search engine integration

geerlingguy CreditAttribution: geerlingguy at Midwestern Mac, LLC commentedI've started noticing this issue on cron runs as well—I thought it was due to my (finally) upgrading to Drupal 9, but it's good to see it's just Microsoft disabling a public API without warning :P

PROMESIf it is working as designed. Why I have 3 sites reporting this exception for some time (including today during a cron run) and 7 not on the same server, all using D9.3.3 and the latest version of this module??

gbyte CreditAttribution: gbyte as a volunteer and at gbyte commentedBecause you failed to read through this issue. Bing stopped supporting sitemap pinging - just disable it in the module settings or switch to the 4.x (dev) and enjoy the new support for IndexNow + Bing.
As a side note, double/tripple exclamation/question marks make me feel uneasy and are not much different from ALL CAPS.

sergey-serovFrom official Microsoft Bing blog:
https://blogs.bing.com/webmaster/may-2022/Spring-cleaning-Removed-Bing-a...
They recommend to use:
1). robots.txt
2). Bing Webmaster Tools (control panel for their services)
3). https://www.indexnow.org

gbyte CreditAttribution: gbyte as a volunteer and at gbyte commented@sergey-serov Thanks for the follow-up. This here module now supports submitting to IndexNow so this issue is of the past.
