I am using serial filed in a content type that depends on revisions, workbench, organic groups and rules. Everything was fine, until I got a duplicate for the 2800th count for two nodes that are a day apart.

Any thoughts about what should I check and how to fix the serials after removing the redundant value?

This is #2455677: Getting Duplicate numbers and gaps in the sequence order. For now, use the dev version as the fix is in there. We should probably cut a release with it.
