Release notes

We decided to extend the the minimal support of 8.x-1.x until 2021-12-31. This should be enough time to upgrade to 4.x.

Starting with 8.x-1.8 Drupal 9.0 and 9.1 are supported.
But take care! To support the newer Drupal major versions it was required to switch to solarium 6 and the newer Symfony event dispatching.
So if you wrote custom code that interacts directly with solarium or uses events you might need to adjust your custom code or stay with 8.x-1.7.

The minimal support throughout 2021 will NOT cover

  • Guaranteed compatibility to the latest versions of Solarium and Search API
  • New or back ported features to 8.x-1.x

Nevertheless it is recommended to upgrade to 4.x as soon as possible.
If you upgrade, be aware that you already missed almost 5 years of development and frequent releases of Search API Solr 8.x-2.x and 8.x-3.x.

Read the Migrate from 8.x-1.x to 4.x HowTo.
