Release notes
This is the first stable release of the Search API module for Drupal 8.
This release, and all following stable releases, is recommended for use on production sites and will receive coverage by the Drupal Security Team. There are no known major problems for this release.
There are two Views-related issues users of this module should be aware of: #2858303: Broken taxonomy views filters and #2868704: Fatal error on full text search after removing a field from the index. Both of these already have patches that should work to fix the problem, but additional confirmation is needed. Trying out the patches and providing feedback would help resolve those issues quickly.
Note for developers: If you are developing/maintaining a module building on the Search API framework, please be aware of the Drupal 8 backwards-compatibility policy to know on the stability of which parts of the module you should be able to depend. There is also an ongoing discussion about possible adaptions to this policy specifically for the Search API which you should follow (and possibly participate in).
Finally, please make sure to subscribe to the change records for the Search API module to be aware of any future changes/additions to our API.
