The ampersand in "Save & Edit" gets escaped with an html entity

OK, I am honestly kinda confused, I find it hard to believe that no one else noticed this, so I'm at a loss...
But when you check_plain the save_edit_button_value variable and similar, special chars in it like the ampersand will get escaped with entities, and then those entity codes will show up in the button text. That check_plain needs to go...
