I have deleted the robots.txt file from the file directory several times, but that file keeps reappearing. Is the core recreating the file when it detects that it is not present in the directory? How do I fix this?

fm commentedHello? [tap, tap, tap] Is this thing on?
hass commentedIf you install new core versions you need to remove the file after every update. Otherwise, ask your server admin what he is doing.
fm commentedThe file has been removed (several times), but it keeps regenerating. I've already asked my host service if they are restoring the file and they've said that they are not.
This has nothing to do with updating the core files. I routinely delete the robot.txt after I've updated the core files. The file is regenerating without me touching the core files.

fm commentedThis is not fixed. Please don't mark it as such until the issue has been resolved.
hass commentedThis is NOT an issue of this module. Here is nothing to support.
fm commentedYou're probably right. It must be a great challenge and honor to support a module that's been rendered ineffectual. Keep up the good work.
hass commentedAgain. This module does not create, delete, copy or move any files. If it could, we would not made the admins to manually remove a file (robots.txt) from disk. The only reason is the module does not have permission for this. Therefor you must fix your buggy server. If you need consulting, let me know.
