is there an easy way to make multiple registrations possible? [#2870522]

I need to make it simple to add registrations for multiple users. ideally with different ticket prices.... not sure how to approach this, and am open to other options, or just using a shopping cart with commerce options or something like that. any suggestions welcome

There are lots of ways. This is probably good question for the "Entity Registration" module queue, though. This module just allows registrations created by that module to have their status changed by commerce transactions.

There's a Slots submodule that might work. There's anonymous registration options, allowing you to register other people. There is no built-in, click-and-go way to say "I want X tickets" and then ask for X people's information at this time that I am aware of.
