I was very excited about Registration Commerce, as it seemed to meet my use case, until I discovered one fatal limitation. Or am I missing something? I've searched extensively but could not find a solution.
There seems no way to link a registration to an existing product, as a product of type registration is created, and I don't see how to manage this product in the usual way (adding different taxonomy terms per product, showing in reports, etc). It seems to be a kind of virtual product floating in its own space, without identity.
I could hack the module or use Rules to replace the created line item with a different one, but wouldn't it be possible to enhance the module to allow the linking of a registration type to an existing product?
Any thoughts would be very welcome. Thank you.

gcbIt would not be horribly complicated to make the Product used by a Registration Type configurable. You have some use cases here, and I can imagine others. Unfortunately I don't have the bandwidth at the moment to work on such a feature, but I'll leave this feature request here in case I do in the future, or if someone else wants to give it a go and submit a patch.
