When selecting a token pattern for RealName - there are no options for Profile2 fields.

I think this is no longer needed with D8. Profile fields are standard fields in core and you can use standard field tokens.

Okay, but core doesn't support different profile types as far as I can see, which is what Profile2 offers.

I‘m not a user of profile2 module, so I cannot help. The important thing here is that profile2 module can also add or extend tokens and may provide better tokens if something is missing in core tokens.
