  1. Do we JUST want to collect adresses and export them for use with any newsletter system? Or have a full featured newsletter suite installed (be able to send newsletters from the site)?
  2. Do we even need our own feature or is it enough to provide/link to a recipe for installing and enabling existing contrib? (eg simplenews)
  3. What would our feature do except enabling existing contrib module? Preconfigure said module in any way?
  4. in anycase i would also like to investiate ways of making automatic newsletters from the newest changes on the site. any thoughts

Existing contrib options

  • Mailinglist: - is just for collecting emails to be used in an external mailing application and there's not a way to unsubscribe in it.
  • Or have a full featured newsletter suite installed (e.g. Simplenews + Mimemail)

Mailchimp could also be a solution.

Reopening this as there's currently no obvious way for non-developers to provide this functionality. Even if it's just a basic form and widget.
