I was wondering if this module is still being developed?
It sounds like a very useful module and would love to follow the development.
I think everyone suffers from spam bots and if this module solves the problem more and more users would appreciate this module.

Since there is no response since February 2011, the module JS Validate Forms (https://drupal.org/project/js_validate_forms) seems to be deprecated.
I am willing to become a maintainer of this module, because I am going to merge it with the BOTCHA module (https://drupal.org/project/botcha) which provides similar functionality.
I have contacted with the current module maintainer via Contact tab as well.
