It is a sub-theme with an invisible vertical menu. Menu button on the left and search icon on right.

This theme is intended to be a reference for developing Gutenberg compatible themes. It shouldn't be used in production environments.

Overview:

A Drupal administration theme inspired by the newest Material Design project created by Google.

This theme uses no 3rd party libraries or extensions. It has been built to conform to googles markup without any alterations to the DOM.

Aether is a responsive starter theme built with Sass & Compass. Using either fluid, fixed or hybrid responsive techniques, it has 5 breakpoints and uses the widest as the default.

Aether has some cool grid features, handy sass variables/mixins and the ability to add new Sass extensions to build on your theme. It is also Context/Delta friendly for that extra bit of control.

Aether is named after a greek deity, pronounced (EH-ther) [ajtʰɛ̌ːr].

Status

Aether is currently in alpha status, meaning it will go through several alpha releases prior to a feature freeze & beta release; it is not currently considered production ready. Upgrading will be documented in the documentation guides. All testing, bug reports, patches & suggestions are welcome in the issue queue.

Requirements

This theme heavily leans on Sass & Compass. The experience will be much richer using these tools.

This theme is a subtheme of the Fusion Core base theme. Positioning and block styles are controlled through Drupal's UI via the Skinr module, which is required if you want to actually use styles. Chamfer is a theme developed originally as a customizable, simple, rapid prototyping theme for online courses. It has since evolved into a theme used to present online courses at penn state as well as a number of other regular drupal sites.

Chamfer has been reworked from the ground up for 7.x! It is an HTML5, 960 grid using Omega as a base-theme. It makes use of the color module and has good support for the Tinynav.js module / library.

Law Theme Showcase

Chrono is a fixed width Theme with one sidebar on the right side developed by undpaul Drupal development. We use a variation of it on www.dug-hannover.org which is a local Drupal Community page.

There are some - say limitations, say must-do's to make it look its best:

1. It _needs_ some primary links (horizontal top menu) because the strong color of them is needed for optical balance. See Screenshot and reference site above.
2. It is very happy with colored images in the content area. Other it may be fine, but a bit boring.
3. It is also very happy with a populated right column. Only one tiny menu is not much. I included an alternative version of the header, so you can leave out the gradient on the right sidebar if you don't like it (alternative header because the gradient has overlap with the header).
4. Don't make the title of your site too long, or the transparent bar gets into the face of poor buddha. This is a design sin :)
5. I think it is apt better for blogging or a straight structure than for a content-heavy site with many blocks, but it may be whatever you like.
6. Have fun! If you do variations of it, drop me a line, I am curious what one can do with it.

About Nitobe

Nitobe is a fixed-width, content-first theme based on the 960 Grid System. It supports two or three column layouts in several configurations and a header image area that can be set to a fixed image or selected at random. In addition to the column region, a four region area spanning the width of the layout is provided between the content and footer regions.

The theme includes a default favicon, a custom maintenance page, a default user icon, and a variety of sample header images (940 x 118 pixels).
