Omega Five for Drupal 8

Omega Five brings back the ever popular user interface that allows for editing the responsive layout through the theme settings form making it possible for users of ALL abilities to create and adjust a fully responsive theme to their needs.

The Drupal 8 version of Omega Five has been updated and released as 8.x-5.0-alpha7. There is still much development to be done on the 8.x-5.x branch before things can be considered stable. There will potentially be problems in upgrading from one alpha release to the next without renaming and editing files where structure changes.

Omega Five Features

The current list of features for Omega Five is only a small sampling of the features available. This section will be updated with additional features and descriptions as it nears a stable release for Drupal 8.

• Fully Responsive layout(s) and highly configurable presentation of that layout in each responsive breakpoint.
• Full integration of layout_discovery in Drupal 8.3+ (in development)
• Ability for single or multiple layout configurations. You can then select which layout to use on the homepage, individual node types, and for taxonomy vocabularies.
• Create subthemes and clone themes through the Omega interface.
• Features for advanced themers like adding a config.rb, Gemfile, or Gulpfile to generated subthemes to aid in advanced front end development.
• Layout inheritance in subthemes so you can create a base theme for your project that controls layout and base styles, allowing subthemes to inherit ALL layout configurations from the parent.
• SCSS without the hassle: Don't know what Compass/Sass/Guard/Gobbledeegook is? No problem. Omega can handle the heavy lifting while setting up your subtheme to be ready to use more advanced front end development practices.

Who is it for?

Semantic UI Omega aims to combine flexibility of Omega theme & Semantic UI. While Omega is a key Theme in Drupal World , Semantic UI is rapidly getting popular and being used due to the features it provides. Semantic UI Omega is a Subtheme of Omega 4 and depends on Semantic UI API for integrating Sematic UI API library.

WetKit Omega 4.x is a modern, [Sass](http://sass-lang.com/) and [Compass](http://compass-style.org/) enabled Drupal 7 theme powered by the Omega base theme.

Omega Key Features

Central base theme for the NodeMaker distribution, powered by Omega. This theme is meant to be subthemed and become a starting point for your own theme development that is a little more friendly out of the box than Omega by itself.

This Omega sub-theme is based on the original 960 Robots theme, and uses Omega 3.x as its base theme. In order to use this theme, you will need to have the Omega theme installed on your site.

So this theme has been abandoned for a while now (12/4/13). There is a UW Madison department that has forked this theme. I can point you in the right direction if you want to use that theme.

This sandbox provides template files of the different standard grids of the Omega Theme.

Right now templates for the following programs are provided:

• Fireworks by jordi_bcktt
• Inkscape by xamanu

You are more than welcome to contribute with more template files.

CoderDojo theme based on Omega (XHTML)

This is a very simple Omega 3.x subtheme that:

1. Marks the site as being web-application capable (iOS)
2. Sets the title bar to be translucent (iOS)
3. Adds a startup screen image (iOS)
4. Adds home screen icons of reasonable sizes (iOS and Android)

The popularity of 978.gs has made designers favor their design with larger gutter space over those provided by 960.gs which is used primarily in the Omega theme.

With our own designers using the 978 grids and some demands from other designers, we have thus ported the 978.gs into the Omega theme, as a starter kit, replacing the default grid values with those in 978 for normal, 748 for narrow and 1218 for wide.

This is still heavily in testing and feel free to clone a copy and try it out. Do note the theme works only for Drupal 7, base on the HTML5 starterkit.
