Transcribe Distribution

Home Page

This distribution includes all modules and themes required to emulate the National Archives site (mentioned below). More detailed instructions are on the way. This installation has removed the standard Drupal installation so only the profile is allowed.

The National Archives launched a Crowdsource Transcription website in January 2012 at http://transcribe.archives.gov. The site allows the public to contribute to transcriptions of historical documents, and helps make them more accessible to the public.

Each document is categorized as "Beginner", "Intermediate", or "Advanced", based on the level of effort believed to be needed to transcribe it. In addition to searching for documents, citizen archivists can browse by difficulty, year, and the status of transcription ("Not Yet Started," "Partially Transcribed," and "Completed").

This Drupal distribution was created to provide the custom Drupal pieces used at http://transcribe.archives.gov to individuals, and organizations who would like to create their own document transcription web site.

TEDx installation profile

TEDx Installation Profile - filled frontpage

Betawerk is founding partner of TEDxEutropolis. TED stands for Technology Entertainment Design and is devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.

In February 2012 the second edition of TEDxEutropolis took place in Hasselt Belgium (here's an impression). While building the site for the second edition, we start thinking how to make it easier for fellow TEDx organizers.

The website of TEDxEutropolis is developed in Drupal 7. Since we're big fans of Drupal we would like to contribute the TEDx installation profile to the Drupal and TEDx community. So it can be re-used by TEDx organizations around the world.

  • 4 Contenttypes: page, news, speakers & video set up en ready to go
  • Views for the different contenttypes
  • Superfish navigation
  • Easy placement of page content on the frontpage
  • Easy image and Vimeo video selection in the header

Using OpenMusicFestival? Join our G.D.O group!

OMF is a streamlined Drupal distribution for music festivals, designed to be extensible while also easy to use and maintain year-on-year.

The initial use case is for a large, multi-stage music festival taking place over several days, though the flexible nature of Drupal means this can be easily adapted into serving any style of music festival.

Main components:

Artist listings

The core, the artist content type enables listings with fields for bio information, links to external sites and the ability to stream YouTube and Soundcloud media.

Event scheduler

Artists are associated with events (a content type), which have a location (Complete with Google Maps) and start/end times.

Venue directory

Events are associated with venues (a taxonomy), which have their own directory.

The terminology is kept abstract to ensure as many use cases as possible — in our "multi-stage music festival" example, each stage is a venue and each set at those stages is an event.
