Create a new Private Message Thread with additional fields added

I have added additional fields to the Private Message fieldset, namely an file attachment field and a entity relationship field.

I want to know how to use the privatemsg_new_thread() function to add the file attachment and entity relationship to the message in addition to the subject and message body.
