Is there a way to achieve this easily in Drupal 8? For Drupal 6 there have been many modules. Less for Drupal 7 and none for Drupal 8 yet.
Maybe Drupal 8 is already able to do this, but I just didn't find out how? Thanks for any information on this.

osopolarI was wondering about the same. The only workaround I have found so far in Drupal 8 is using two different fields, one for public and another for private files.
Maybe the Private files download permission module would be helpful too. See also #2898507: Ability to combine both public and private downloads in drupal 8
