Field accessible to rules

I really do like the idea of having a zip or postal code field in Drupal. Very useful when someone might not want to divulge a complete address, but proximities are required for certain site functionalities. So thank you for your efforts on this.

There seem to be some basic flaws, IMO, with this module though. Simply put it does not act anything like what we have become used to a field inherently acting like. As mentioned elsewhere in the issue queue it does not play at all with the module Conditional Fields. And as I just found out just now, rules cannot access a postal code field in any manner, it is not exposed to rules.

Is there any possibility of either or both of those integrations happening? I'm sure module usage would increase if it would play nicely with other modules.
