I'm unable to implement responsive images because the Picture widget option ("Picture") isn't among the options for the image field widgets. The only option is "Image".
Is anyone else having this issue? Is this a bug? A local configuration issue?
I'm using Drupal 7 with Picture 7.x-2.9 and Breakpoints 7.x-1.3. I've set breakpoints in my theme's .info file, defined sizes for responsive image styles based on the default "large" image style, and completed picture mapping.
I'm eager to use Picture module with Breakpoints but I've hit an impasse. Suggestions appreciated.
Many thanks!

attiks commentedThis sounds like a caching problem, feel free to re-open if needed

ph7 commentedHave you looked in the 'Manage Fields' tab? If so, you should look at the 'Display Fields' tab. It took me while to realize that the Picture module provides a 'display formatter' and not a new 'field/form type', like for instance the Media module. Take a look at this tutorial: https://vimeo.com/92537789

david@thrale.com commentedTo assist. I had the exact same issue (when migrating an existing site). I resolved this by addicting a completely new "image" field type in Administration | Structure | Content types | MyContentType. Then in manage display I was able to set the picture format.

ignol commentedThis might occur if no picture mapping is selected for breakpoint groups. at least one image style have to be used for breakpoint. Hope this help if you run to same problem.

shaneonabike commentedSince the documentation is out of date, and to take it further from the other notes. You need to create a mapping at Configuration >
Media > Picture Mappings. Once you have created that association you are good to go and it will show up
