When I search the permissions page, the relevant results display for a second but then the full list of permissions displays. I'm marking this as critical since this behavior directly impedes with the purpose of the module.

hanoiiCouple notes. The first field does work, the second doesn't, and this seems to come from an incompatibility with the module_filter module, which is likely where this bug should be filled. Not sure though still.

hanoiiErm, it looks like module_filter already has this functionality as well. Probably a note on the module page might be made that either one of the two modules should be used if you only need this functionality and not everything that module_filter does.
If the rest can confirm the issue with module_filter then we might close or change this issue for a documentation one.
