Track node usage for imported nodes or re-authored nodes

I would like to figure out a way to have Pay-Per_Node administrate the tracking of nodes usage for nodes imported using Node Import with the Author as the creator (PPN USer) and have Pay Per Node calculate the usage against node credits.

I also would like to figure out how to have Pay Per Node calculate a deduction for a node that is originally authored by someone else (an administrator) and then has author rights assigned to a pay per node user.

Right now PayPerNode does not recognize or deduct for nodes imported with the author who has PPN credits, nor will it deduct a credit if the PPN user is assigned authorship. It appearsn that it will only execute a debit using node/add when the user has credits available.

Can you offer any guidance on how to go about this?

If you think this can be accomplished I would be willing to provide the necessary monetary sponsorship to the module to justify the added features.
