Release notes

This stable release update is a key milestone for the future of the project.

Existing users can update easily and won't be hit by any major change.
Don't forget to also update the Entity Reference Revisions (ERR) module to its most recent version.

The original Paragraphs widget was renamed to "Paragraphs Classic" widget and beside fixing bugs, we intentionally didn't touch its UX in general. For the closed/collapsed paragraphs widget mode, we added a summary generator.

Additionally, we ship a new "Paragraphs EXPERIMENTAL" widget that is a first step into the future.
Most changes only affected the new experimental widget with these most important additions:

  • a new plugin architecture to define UI elements that are not directly fields.
  • duplicate a paragraph
  • single / default paragraph
  • properly handle paragraphs without edit access permission
  • proper change warning
  • a first css cleanup iteration with cleaner flex based layout.

The new widget allowed us to start working on the experimental Paragraphs Collection, where we are heavily using the plugin system to cover common functionality in paragraphed content that previously needed many modules and site building.
