Problem/Motivation

When using the Paragraph View Mode module in combination with Layout Paragraphs, the AJAX view mode switching feature does not work inside modal/off-canvas paragraph editors.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install and enable Paragraph View Mode and Layout Paragraphs.
  2. Create a paragraph type with multiple view modes and matching form modes.
  3. Add this paragraph inside a layout region of Layout Paragraphs (e.g., in a 2-column layout).
  4. Attempt to switch view modes using the dropdown while editing the paragraph in the modal.
  5. The AJAX spinner spins, but the form does not reload with the new form mode.

Proposed resolution

The form should reload via AJAX and reflect the matching form mode, just like it does when using standard paragraph editing.

We do not use Layout Paragraphs but this same issue seems to happen just using it with core paragraphs, we have paragraphs that no longer swap between form modes when a selection is made, I get no error, nothing in console or logs.

Just seems broken and this is an important part of the module for us.
