Date Popup Authored update breaks node creation dates

I just updated Panopoly 1.55 and noticed that after doing so, every time I update a node, the creation date gets changed to the last updated date. After lots of testing, I traced this back to the Date Popup Authored module, which was recently updated to 7.x-1.2 in Panopoly Admin. panopoly_admin.make was previously using a specific commit from the the dev branch (baf315c), but the update latest stable version introduced this bug. This update needs to be rolled back immediately, as it can cause huge problems for data that is many years old.
