That could be helpfull to be able to disable the throbber for selected roles in order to avoid problems with Views and/or in the back-office.

This looks to be a duplicate of #1929806: There's no way to exclude arbitrary paths from triggering the throbber and I believe configuring paths to exclude is probably easier than a role per se - Also note the 8.x branch now has the role to "use page load progress" which might need to be backported to 7.x
