Using Outline Designer for normal Navigations? [#1991194]

I'm not sure if I overviewed something, but is it possible to use this module also for the normal navigation?
Normally as I understand, it should be possible, but I see no way how to manage this through the normal interface. Is there a submodule I need for this?
Sorry if there is an obvious answer for this.

Books are very similar to menus so your not hurting anything by building out site navigation in a book. This has been built out as an API so that it could be repurposed for use with menus independent of Books but no one has added that functionality yet. It would be a sub-module to do this and would be a pretty slick one at that.

Thanks for the answer. I also think, that this functionality would be very interesting - especially for small sites.
Maybe I invest some time, trying to build such a module, when I have a bit more time.
