The help text for the cck field displays beneath the WKT field. Since this field us usually collapsed, it doesn't make sense to display the help text there. Help text should be displayed beneath the Search Address field. Sorry I am not able to provide a patch at this time.

Maybe you're thinking of the OpenLayers Geocoder module or something?

The help text is for the WKT input: having it visible without the wkt input itself visible is weird.

Sorry, you're right. This is an issue for Openlayers Geocoder module. By the way, I will need to reword this there. The help text appears beneath the WKT field, but you can't see it because the WKT field is normally collapsed.
