The "Add this to a map ?" dropdown that is visible when editing an Openlayers object doesn't seem to work as intended. I just tried using it to add a Control to a Map, and nothing happened.
At first I was confused about its purpose, because it only allowed one map to be selected (leading me to initially question if objects could only be added to a single map - which I quickly learned is not true). So I assume it is meant to be a shortcut for adding obects to a map at the same time as you create them?
If it's hard to fix, I wonder if we could just remove it. One less thing to worry about - and perhaps it just causes more confusion? I don't feel strongly either way... just a thought.

PolHello,
Do you still have the problem with the new version 7.x-3.1 ? I think I've fixed this a long time ago...
Could you please give me feedback so I can work on this ?
In the meantime, I'm closing the ticket, reopen it if you still encounter the bug.
Thanks!

m.stentaNo, it still doesn't work. I just tested it by editing a layer and adding it to a map. It was not added to the map. And the layer became overridden upon saving (even though nothing actually changed in the layer config).
Do we really need this feature? Can we just remove it?

PolIndeed there was an error due to the recent changes to the Collection API and object loading stuff.
This should be fully working now.
