I updated my views module yesterday from 7.x-3.0-rc1 to 7.x-3.1. After that the deal that normally shows on the front page disappeared, just a white empty area. Also the cities list at the top simply said 'Array'. I reverted to views 7.x-3.0-rc1 and restored from a backup and all is well.

I was wondering if anyone else had that experience and if so, any idea what went wrong?

I confirm the issue. It comes probably from a modified/removed field in the database.

This is a views issue. Try to uninstall views and reinstall it. Then use features to recreate the pre-defined views of opendeals profile.
