As OpenChurch is a distribution, shouldn't the documentation reside at this page? https://www.drupal.org/docs/8/distributions

Hello.
I help organize contrib days at various camps and meetups. I would love to help with documentation efforts.

I looked through the code repo and saw that the project is missing internal READMEs as well, in the main repo and in the submodules.

Is this project actively maintained? ANd can I use it for on-boarding folks to contributing back to drupal?

The project is minimally maintained at the moment but I am planning on a new major version this year. I agree we do need some basic documentation but I will need help.
