This module allows video that is published using OpenPackage Video to be automatically syndicated to the YouTube 'branded garden'.
YouTube is termed a 'branded garden' because it is not possible to view YouTube content without being exposed to the YouTube brand. The term is derived from 'walled garden'.
Features
- Syndication of first op_video field, node title, body and tags, and YouTube category.
- Videos can be syndicated as 'private' on a per-node basis.
- Integration with token, custom_links, feedapi and mass node operations.
Dependencies
- OpenPackage Video 5.x-3.x
- Zend - therefore PHP 5 only
Instructions
Get a developer key and client id from http://code.google.com/apis/youtube/dashboard/ and enter them at Administer › Site configuration › YouTube syndication.
Go to your video content type (that has an op_video field). There will be a new fieldset called 'Youtube syndication'. Enable syndication and select a taxonomy vocab. Terms from this vocab will be syndicated with the video as tags.
Users need the 'syndicate video to YouTube' permission. They will have a tab on their profile page to associate their account with a YouTube account.
There will now be a 'YouTube syndication' fieldset on the node form where users can mark a video to be syndicated and also specify its YouTube category and if it should be private.
The syndication occurs during cron.
