Allow suppression of "Do Not Send Notification" checkbox

I would like the ability to suppress the appearance of the "Do not send notifications for this update" checkbox that appears on the new node form for certain content types. The only way to get rid of the checkbox is to completely disable subscriptions for that content type, but this isn't a desirable solution. I would like to allow subscriptions but not have the checkbox appear on certain content type's new node form (and edit form).

The main reason for this is that I am using the FAQ Ask module which creates a shortened form for creating a FAQ that can appear in blocks, but the checkbox appears on this form if the user is logged in to the website. Reference: #1593218: Remove notification module field from FAQ Ask form
