When I embed a node by pasting the reference such as [[nid:2495]] into source view, everything apepars to work correctly. I can then go and alter the embedded node, and the changes I make show up as anticipated.

This all works fine until I open the 'hosting' node to edit it in CKEditor. After doing so, the reference [[nid:2495]] is rendered directly into the 'hosting' node's contents.

The 'Live Link' to the embedded node is lost, and any future updates to the embedded node will not work.

Is this the intended behavior, or is it a bug?

If it is a bug, one possible co-factor is that I'm running the Node SymLinks Module as well.

Resolved. The issue was not with Node Embed, but with my "Basic Setup -> Security" settings in CKEditor, which were set to render the node into the editing view. The result of this was that the original node reference was lost.

Deselecting the "Insert node" filter in CKEditor fixed the problem.
