I'm using a bit of Display Suite, and for the Mothership theme, specifically the html5_2col_stacked template. However, I wanted to edit it a bit to do something a little different.

If I change the mothership-html5-2col-stacked.tpl.php file in the mothership/mothership/ds_layouts/mothership_html5_2col_stacked/ directory, then things work exactly as I want and need them to.

However, if I copy the ds_layouts/mothership_html5_2col_stacked/ directory to my Mothership subtheme and then flush the theme cache, I get a white screen of death. Deleting the directory brings the site back.

I love the Mothership theme and I think it's great, so it's probably something I'm doing wrong. I'm just not sure what that is. I'd like to use my own slightly edited display suite template in my subtheme instead of having to edit the one in mothership's core, since it's the right thing to do and it makes updating way easier.

Using drupal 7.24.

hey
the templates for DS was build for the first version of DS - you should be able to trash em ?

Hey man you were right - if I remove them completely from themes/mothership/mothership/ and move them into my subtheme directory the site does not crash (and in fact works correctly with the layout I wanted). Won't I still have the same problem when I update mothership though? Seems like the same ds_layouts/ directory will get created with every update (or will it?). I could just delete it every time... hopefully I won't forget!
