First 8.x beta release ready to test. Main differences from 7.x branch:
Custom MIME type mapping
Previous versions add custom mime type / file name extension map for some types not defined in core:
- rmi => audio/midi
- aidff => audio/x-aiff
- cod => image/cis-cod
- jfif => image/pipeg
- cmx => image/x-cmx
- mpa => video/mpeg
- mpv2 => video/mpeg
- asr => video/x-ms-asf
If you need to extend the core MIME type mapping with these or other types, try the filemime module.
Removed 'relaxed' detecting
Previous versions fall back to the default file extension detecting method when 'magic' results in the generic 'application/octet-stream' MIME type. This prevent some 'magic' detection limitations like for ASF derived media (container format for Windows Media Audio and Windows Media Video).
In 8.x this has been removed from detection engine but some support will be added to the file upload validator submodule.
