I was going to enable this module since we are using the filefield module. However I am getting 500 Error - Internal Server Error when I hit the Save configuration button. When I reload the module list, MimeDetect is still not enabled.

Just to make sure this is related to MimeDetect I enable a few other modules, including FileField without any problems. Then tried enabling MimeDetect and got the 500 error instantly.

I also reuploaded the module just to make sure no corrupt files or anything, but with the same result.

Can you enable other modules, or are you getting the 500 Error on only Mime Detect?

What kind of server are you using? Apache, IIS, or?

I am asking because I am getting this error when I try to enable about a dozen different modules. I turned every modules off and tried enabling just the one . . . and, still had the same problem.

You might want to look at http://drupal.org/node/589776 . I get this error too, but for another module ( https://github.com/rajeshrhino/Civicrm-Direct-Debit-Integration )
