OK, I'm confused, hoping someone can help me.

I found the WordPress Migration module, as part of a Google Search. The thread (https://www.drupal.org/node/2700463) seemed to indicate that there (at least as of that writing) was not a Drupal 8 version available. It lead me to the module (https://www.drupal.org/project/wordpress_migrate), which says in part,

"Status

The Drupal 8 version is under development in the 8.x-3.x branch.

The Drupal 7 version is not being actively developed - the current focus is on D8."

So I thought, "Oh! Great! Apparently, the first article was old, and now they're focusing on Drupal 8." As this was a whole new site/project, based on this information, I installed Drupal 8.2.6 and then installed the WordPress migration module. This went smoothly, but had some other requirements,

Requires:

Chaos toolsWordPress migration support (disabled)Migrate Plus (disabled)Migrate (>=8.1, <8.2) (incompatible with version 8.2.6)Migrate DrupalMigrate Tools (disabled)

so I installed CTools, and Migrate Tools, and then went to install "Migrate" aware, from reading this, of the apparent version issue. I went to https://www.drupal.org/project/migrate, and I find there is no version of Migrate for Drupal 8 available. I entered "Migrate" into the search field on the modules page, and I was shown "Migrate" under the "Experimental" modules. I checked and found that it was version 8.2.6, which is stated to be incompatible with the other module.

SO... I'm unsure how to proceed. Migrate is only available under the projects, as D7 versions. The Migrate that comes with my fresh install is 8.2.6. I can't find anywhere that seems to have another version available.
