Message_notify automatically sends an email when a node is created or updated. This is very undesireable, particularly for moderated message systems and use with OG.
There needs to be a way to turn off automatic sending so the site admin can use rules to fully control when emails are sent. Perhaps by mistake, I have posted in message_subscribe about this, #2105911: Send message after a field of a node update and #2705917: message modules sends unpublished group content.

Or perhaps just a flag that could be used in a rule to not send if flagged.
Hope this triggers and idea for someone.
Thanks

MickC CreditAttribution: MickC commentedJust tried it and it seems to work if using rules - I created a flag 'Do not send notifications for this comment', and used it as a condition in the rule. when checked, the Notification did not send.
