Message to inherited OG group members

Hi I also posted this in Subgroups, but it is def a message notify issue.
Thank you so much Amitai for creating this amazing module and all of the other work you do!

A few years ago my co-worker managed to set it up so that INHERITED members of an OG subgroup would receive email notification when another group member created content in that group. It worked OK!

It is no longer working. I have tried updating all relevant modules but that does not help. I have tried reverting site back to insecure versions of modules as low as I can go (even insecure ones).

Not sure which versions I need to be using at this point.
