I have installed MERCI as I want my customers can book my products for a couple of hours or even days.
(1) Administration, Content, Add Content, Inventory,
(2) Enter a name to this Inventory Content
(3) Add my Ubercart products to it as Inventory Item
(4) If my product is Product01, it will make it : eg. Product01 (4)
(5) I don't know why? What does the number mean?
(6) Save
(7) Manage Equipment
(8) Current Inventory
(9) Nothing !! Why ?
(10) Were my steps correct ? Was there any key things I had missed ?

Maybe this is no longer important, but I have the same problem, tried to add a device, but the only option is to "Add a new content type". When I've done that it appears in > Administration > Structure > Centent types ::: and not in "Current Inventory".
