I am unable to get the panel title to show up on the menu minipanel

When I create a mini panel at /admin/structure/mini-panels, I am able to create a panel title in the "Content" section of the admin interface (/admin/structure/mini-panels/list/[panel_machine_name]/edit/content). I've set the "Title type" to "Manually set" and placed a title in the "Title" field. But when I save it (and after a cache clear), I don't see that panel title in the menu minipanel, when I view it from the front end of the site. It SEEMS like something's not setup correctly, but it's also possible I'm missing something.

Did I make a mistake in the setup? Or is there indeed something not quite production ready with the Title field?
