Hi,
The current release 7.x-1.0-beta8 module isn't compatiable with Media 7.x-2.0 which contains secruity updates.
Are there any plans for updating the module to be compatiable with the latest version of Media 7.x-2.0 or greater?
Please advise so we can decide if we need to find an alternate media gallery solution.
Thanks,
Andrew

Hm... It works correctly with Media 7.x-2.0.
I use the Media Gallery 7.x-1.0-beta8 (original module without patches) without any errors in watchdog or console log (Chrome 58, Firefox 53).
Are these modules exactly incompatible? Which errors do you have?
Thank you!

TribalMan CreditAttribution: TribalMan commentedI also have an issue after updating Media to 7.x-2.0.
Media Tokens are displayed instead of the media.
After updating I get the following errors:
Unresolved dependency file_entity (Missing)
Media requires this module.
Unresolved dependency file_entity (Missing)
Media Browser Plus requires this module.
Unresolved dependency Media (Version <1.99 required)
Media Gallery requires this module and version. Currently using Media version 2.0
Unresolved dependency file_entity (Missing)
Media Gallery requires this module.
I then removed file_entity and reinstalled using drush. All errors except the Media Version < 1.99 disappeared. I disabled media_gallery with drush, deleted the module files and reinstalled media_gallery with "drush en" which downloaded 7.x-1.0-beta8 automatically.
Drush could not enabled it either:
Patched Module
I then removed the requirement from media_gallery.info and tried again. The updates ran successfully and tokens were reading correctly on some pages. However, some pages displayed a Fatal error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function media_attach_browser_js() /.../ media_gallery.module on line 242

[error] Module media_gallery cannot be enabled because it depends on media (<1.99) but 2.0 is available
with
- media 7.x-2.0
- file_entity 7.x-2.0-beta3
I've tried with the latest stable version of Media Gallery (7.x-1.0-beta8) and dev version (7.x-1.0-beta8+15-dev), same error.

Andrew211 CreditAttribution: Andrew211 commentedSo any plans on Media Gallery compatable with Media 7.x-2.0?
I see the last stable release was back in 2012, am hoping the dev team (Acquia) can get this sorted soon, or will def. have to find an alternate solution so we can update to the latest version of Media.
Thanks

TribalMan CreditAttribution: TribalMan commentedCan anyone recommend an alternative that wouldn't be too difficult to migrate to?

Andrew211 CreditAttribution: Andrew211 commentedAm going to start looking next week or maybe code up a new custom module.
Bit frustrating that Acquia are not maintaining their modules.
Basically any site using Media Gallery is now vulnerable as we can't update to Media 2 which has security updates.

Andrew211 CreditAttribution: Andrew211 commentedFYI, ended up using the dev release of media gallery (7.x-2.x-dev) to update to Media 7.x-2.
Cheers

hbblogger CreditAttribution: hbblogger as a volunteer commentedHi Andrew 211, Many thanks. Downloading 7.x-2.x-dev and replacing the beta 8 version worked for me as well! I do find it unfortunate that it seems that developers don't seem to talk to one another (particularly with something as big as a gallery module) when they upgrade their modules. A simple comment on the front page of Media Gallery could have saved us all a lot of time! WARNING : THIS NO LONGER WORKS WITH THE NEW VERSION OF MEDIA!!!!! You need to use the DEV version if you want to upgrade to this. Sadly this is part of what gives Drupal a bad name.

dadepfan CreditAttribution: dadepfan commentedI am unable to implement this solution because when I try and install the Dev version, I get an error that Media Gallery is already installed (7.x-1.0--beta8). When I go into Modules, the check box next to Media Gallery is grayed out, so I cannot uninstall it either. Any ideas?

TribalMan CreditAttribution: TribalMan commented@duarth a few core updates back it broke with the update and various attempts to find a solution was fruitless. With SA-CORE-2018-002 I retired the implementation.
