Latest versions of drupal, media, media_gallery et al. installed. When I create a Gallery (add content->gallery), I see no field for specifying what gallery collection should be used. I've created a few gallery collection taxonomy terms, but when I go to the relevant term page, it says no galleries have been created and to add one. Which I promptly do and add a few test photos but when I return to the taxonomy term page, it's still empty .. although the newly-created gallery is now visible in "All Galleries".

It may or may not be related but I can only see the "Gallery Collections" taxonomy via the admin_menu. If I just click on the general taxonomies page, there is no sign of the "gallery collections" taxonomy?!?

You cannot see the gallery collection settings, because they are hidden (in code). This is a hidden feature, which we will make available with the issue #1037002: New feature: Gallery containers.

Therefore i close this as a duplicate.
