This may be more an issue with Features than Media Gallery, but it's a bit frustrating that I can't make any adjustments to the Gallery content type and then export them to a Feature, as I do with my other content types. I assume because the Gallery type is already defined in code, Features won't list it with the content types to export.
This may just be a necessary trade-off for doing the gallery module this way, and making it as simple as possible for Drupal Gardens and similar audiences. But it would be nice to get the best of both worlds. Perhaps in the future any content type could become a "gallery" type and inherit all the options that come with the gallery type here, maybe via an "Advanced Media Gallery" fork or something.

dafederNot at the moment. And now that some of the functionality that used to only be found in media gallery (like plupload) can be found elsewhere, I think people with more advanced needs can probably spin their own solution.
