The Media Entity module is not compatible with media in core

I get this errors message when try to install Media Entity on Drupal 8.4.4

The 1.x branch of Media Entity cannot be used in conjunction with the media module in core. Please check the 2.x branch for an upgrade path. (Currently using Media Entity version The Media Entity module is not compatible with media in core

how we can fixe that ?!!
