Dave ReidMy thinking behind this is hide the settings until each individual issue can be addressed. I know this would be easy to do at least as a mitigation for now.

wmostrey CreditAttribution: wmostrey commentedAgreed. Is there a simultaneous effort to release a stable 7.1 and 7.2 version? Is there a discussion or overview of this for people that want to help?

tsvenson CreditAttribution: tsvenson commentedInfo about use cases where these fields are needed can be found in #1241564: [meta] Proposal for features needed for a full 2.0 release of the Media module. Also adding this issue in the list there.

wmostrey CreditAttribution: wmostrey commentedThere is currently a (tested and confirmed working) patch in #1223794: Widget does not respect settings in image_field_instance_settings_form (min/max resolution) that makes these fields work, so there would be no need to work on a temporary fix to hide them. I would mark this issue as a duplicate and focus on getting that patch committed.
