I have a project that would make good use of this module, however it is unstable and there are several problems with it. I would like to be able to contribute back my work. Considering no work has been done in more than a year, it seems like another contributor would be very useful.

Is it correct that this project is abandoned?
There has not been a commit in over 5 years, also no plans for a D8 version I am guessing?

Just following Dealing with unsupported (abandoned) projects so we can make this project point the the mailchimp module, which has a mailchimp_campaigns submodule now.
