Welcome to a new major version of the Maxlength module!
The difference between 2.x and 1.x is relatively small, but since the module is under new ownership (👋 hi, we're DevCollaborative) we figured it would be best to start a clear new path for the project.
If you enjoy the module, we encourage you to get involved and support the Drupal project in general by joining the Drupal Association.
A big thank you to everyone who contributed to this release, including mlncn and damienmckenna for answering our new maintainer questions and dawehner for adding us as maintainers.

Known Issues
The Maxlength permission Bypass Maxlength setting does not actually take effect when granted to a user role. We plan on fixing this in the next release.
