Much better to use hook_menu_alter() because it works only on menu rebuild but hook_menu_link_alter() executed on each request

works for me

tested on D7-RC2 with already applied patches
#1004004: Fix user profile link + #1004002: Block is empty

The patch doesn't fix #1005198: No "Switch back" link in D7 version, which is said to be a duplicate of the current issue.

@alberto56 I've tested unswitch with & without this patch - both cases works fine
Do you clear cache or are you using some cache backend?

@andypost thanks for your message. I'm confirming that you're right: both "switch back" links (in the navigation menu and the masquerade block) work without this patch on a clean install. I'll have to track down what is causing the "switch back" link to not appear on my test site and, if necessary, I'll reopen #1005198: No "Switch back" link in D7 version.

Cheers,

Albert.
