add fields and 'error' created

Trying to use Masonry and can't get it to work. Loaded up the api and masonry views. I created a view with fields. When I attempt to add in the body and image field what what shows when I apply the new fields is pages of code, perhaps jquery but I'm not sure. Here's just the first several lines

Once the code is shown all I can do is go back in the browser. At this point anytime I click to change any other item I'm unable. The throbber just spins and stays on the same page. All I can do is delete the query and repeat the same process. Not sure if I'm just doing something fundamentally wrong or what. I'm using the reccommended version, not DEV. I originally created a simple view and just changed the format to masonry and the same thing happened.
