Yes, please... 4 years is a long time.. And there are patches on top of previous patches in the queue, which make them unusable with drush make.

+1 the bug #2051135: Mail System breaks theme registry is CRAZY hard to find as you don't think of a mailsystem module breaking a theme - please consider a release.
